Tuesday, January 14th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.232, five cents above Monday’s closing price of $2.182. Continuing the pre-session rally to record an intraday high of $2.255 at 9:20AM, prices then moved lower to trade along $2.240 well into the afternoon. Despite forecasts for below-average temperatures in the short-term, the contract lost nearly six cents in the last hour of the day. February closed nearly flat on Tuesday at $2.187.
As of 8:40AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down nine cents; Natural Gas was down six cents; Heating Oil was down slightly; and Gasoline was unchanged.
