Monday, December 28th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.259, significantly lower than Thursday’s closing price of $2.519. Prices quickly dropped to an intraday low of $2.238 at 9:10AM. From there, prices began a staggered ascent, reaching an intraday high of $2.333 late in the day at 2:30PM. Shortly thereafter, the January contract closed at $2.305.
As of 9:40AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 58 cents; Natural Gas was up 9 cents; Heating Oil was up 1 cent; and Gasoline was up 2 cents.
