Monday, November 30th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.917, seven cents above Friday’s closing price $2.843. Ascending to an intraday high of $2.996 at 9:30AM, as a short-term cold front entered the forecast, the contract then proceeded to steadily decline for the balance of the day. With above average temperatures to follow the impending frigid conditions, traders were quick to sell this latest rally. Marking an intraday low of $2.874 at 2:20PM, the January contract closed higher on Monday at $2.882.
As of 7:15AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down eight cents; Natural Gas was up one cent; Heating Oil was up one cent; and Gasoline was unchanged.
