January NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts Closed at $4.545 on Monday, December 10th

Monday, December 10th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $4.427, six cents below Friday’s closing price of $4.488.  Ascending from the intraday low of $4.416 as markets opened, prices soon rose to the $4.47 level and stabilized through 11:30AM.  Despite forecasts for mild temperatures in the coming weeks, the contract ascended into the afternoon to mark the intraday high of $4.666 at 1:30PM.  Trailing lower to finish the day, January closed up on the day at $4.545.

This morning in Globex as of 6:00AM, WTI Crude was up forty cents; Natural Gas was down six cents; Heating Oil was up one cent; and Gasoline was up one cent.
