Friday, June 22nd saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $2.955, two cents below Thursday’s closing price of $2.975. Experiencing volatility right out of the gate as traders continued weighing Thursday’s above average storage injection against historically low inventory levels and bullish weather forecasts, the contract quickly fell to $2.935 before retaking the $2.96 mark ahead of 10:30AM. Losing ground heading into the afternoon to tally the intraday low of $2.926 by 1:10PM, July proceeded to close lower on Friday at $2.945.
This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 49 cents; Natural Gas was down three cents; Heating Oil was down two cents; and, Gasoline was down two cents.
