On Wednesday, April 29th – the June NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract began trading as the prompt month. Opening at $1.965, two cents above Tuesday’s closing price of $1.948, prices extended to an intraday high of $1.969 within minutes of the opening bell. Posting a staggered descent from there, the contract fell over the next three hours until reaching the intraday low of $1.860 at midday. June closed lower on Wednesday at $1.869.
The EIA Natural Gas Storage Report is due out at 10:30AM today. The report is expected to show a 90 BCF injection to storage for the week ended April 24th. This compares to a 123 BCF injection at this time last year and a five-year average injection amount of 74 BCF.
As of 7:50AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up $2.44; Natural Gas was up two cents; Heating Oil was up six cents; and Gasoline was up three cents.
