Tuesday, September 20th saw the October NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $7.775, two cents above Monday’s closing price of $7.752. Trailing downward to the intraday low of $7.647 ahead of 10:00AM, prices then rose confidently to achieve the intraday high of $7.982 as week-over-week production waned. Withdrawing into the afternoon, October closed lower on Tuesday at $7.717.
The EIA Natural Gas Storage Report is due out on Thursday at 10:30AM. The report is expected to show a 98 BCF injection to storage for the week ended September 16. This compares to a 76 BCF injection at this time last year and a five-year average injection amount of 81 BCF.
As of 7:50AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up $2.19; Natural Gas was up 34 cents; Heating Oil was up two cents; and Gasoline was up five cents.
