Monday, August 3rd saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $1.928, thirteen cents above Friday’s closing price of $1.799. Surging upward from the intraday low as markets opened, an updated bullish weather forecast directed prices upward. Surpassing $2.020 by 10:30AM, the contract rose to a two-month intraday high of $2.154 at 1:10PM. The September contract closed higher on Monday at $2.101.
As of 7:45AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 70 cents; Natural Gas was up five cents; Heating Oil was down two cents; and Gasoline was down one cent.
