Monday, May 18th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $1.742, nearly ten cents above Friday’s closing price of $1.646. Tallying an intraday low of $1.741 as markets opened, the contract quickly surged higher to break above $1.800 by 10:00AM and $1.840 an hour later. Choppy trading along $1.835 persisted through midday until jumping to an intraday high of $1.851 at 1:30PM. Descending drastically to close out the day, June closed lower higher Monday at $1.783.
As of 7:50AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 91 cents; Natural Gas was up five cents; Heating Oil was unchanged; and Gasoline was up one cent.
