Monday, May 24th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.833, seven cents below Friday’s closing price of $2.906. Marking the intraday low of $2.833 as markets opened, traders got to work recouping the weekend losses. Climbing to $2.875 by 9:45AM, prices rose gradually throughout the day to reach an intraday high of $2.894 at 1:10PM. Losing material cooling degree days from the short-term forecast, June closed lower on Monday at $2.886.
As of 8:10AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 28 cents; Natural Gas was unchanged; Heating Oil was down one cent; and Gasoline was down slightly.
