March NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts Closed at $2.836 on Monday, February 25th

Monday, February 25th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $2.777, six cents above Friday’s closing price of $2.717.  Trending lower initially to seesaw along $2.765 through 11:30AM, marking the intraday low of $2.756 at 11:10AM, prices then moved gradually higher as midday approached.  Possibly overlooking short-term mild conditions to focus on below-average temperatures forecasted for the first week in March, the contract rose confidently into the afternoon.  Tallying a near one-month intraday high of $2.842 ahead of 2:30PM, March closed higher on Monday at $2.836.

This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 21 cents; Natural Gas was up five cents; Heating Oil was up two cents; and Gasoline was up two cents.
