Monday, August 26th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.191, four cents above Friday’s closing price of $2.152. Rising from an intraday low of $2.190 soon after the opening bell, the contract jumped to the $2.21 level where it leveled off and persisted late into the day. Possibly finding support from the formation of a tropical storm in the Caribbean, or perhaps just another short-lived rally, prices rose to a ten-day intraday high of $2.232 ahead of 2:30PM as September closed higher on Monday at $2.230.
As of 8:45AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up five cents; Natural Gas was down two cents; Heating Oil was up one cent; and Gasoline was up two cents.
